Mr. Jeff Andrews of Atlas VenturesSpeaking on Funding Panel: Venture
Jeff Andrews invests in hardware and software companies serving markets including clean energy, mobile electronics and media. His investments include Lilliputian Systems (chip-based fuel cells for mobile electronics), Pixtronix (low power displays for mobile electronics), Miasole (thin film solar), Gotuit Media (broadband video), Optovia (acquired by JDSU), eDial (acquired by Alcatel), ASIP (acquired by Cyoptics) and others.
Prior to Atlas Venture, Mr. Andrews worked for Intel Corporation developing strategy and making venture capital investments. Before Intel, Mr. Andrews spent 10 years in operating roles first at Lockheed Martin developing fiber optic systems and later at Becton Dickinson Corporation commercializing medical systems.
Mr. Andrews serves on the advisory boards of the MIT Deshpande Center and Silicon Valley Bank. He served as an advisor to Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice in the area of clean energy policy and has been appointed to the advisory board of the Technology Innovation Program at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He currently co-chairs the innovation task force for the New England Clean Energy Council.
Mr. Andrews holds six patents, four in fiber optics and two in medical systems, and was twice named Inventor of the Year at Lockheed Martin Aero and Naval Systems. He has also authored numerous publications in technical journals.
Mr. Andrews has a BS in Physics from Binghamton University, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.

Mr. Howard Berke of KonarkaKeynote Speaker
Howard Berke is currently executive chairman and co-founder of Konarka Technologies, an innovator in development and commercialization of Power PlasticŪ, a material that converts light to energy.
As well, Mr. Berke is a Senior Advisor to Good Energies, a global leading private investment firm in solar photovoltaic companies and wind developers. Good Energies contributes as a strategic investor to the ongoing energy transition process through its long-term investments and its support of development initiatives in the field of clean energy technologies. Mr. Berke has nearly 30 years of hands-on management experience launching, building and leading both public and private technology companies. This includes over 20 years of general management with full P&L responsibility for eight start-up companies and ten years of business development and marketing focusing on emerging technologies.
He has founded or co-founded 13 start-up companies and has initiated and completed numerous corporate acquisitions, mergers and R&D joint ventures in the U.S., Europe and Asia. He advises start-up companies and entrepreneurs in a wide range of fields including medical devices, biotech informatics, software, networking, telecom and energy technology.
In addition to serving as delegate to the World Economic Forum's Technology Pioneers, he is a Director of SEIA, formerly was a Board Director for ACORE, has helped to found and organize the New England Clean Energy Council and has guest lectured on entrepreneurship at Yale, Harvard, MIT and elsewhere throughout the world.
Berke received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Yale University. His academic training includes finance, accounting, operations research, corporate law, architecture and physics.

Daniel Goldman's experience has spanned the upstream, midstream and downstream oil, gas, coal and power generation sectors of the industry, and includes an extensive focus on clean energy technology development and project investment.
Prior to joining GreatPoint Energy, Mr. Goldman was a Co-founder, Chief Financial Officer, and member of the Board of Directors of New Energy Capital Corp. Mr. Goldman developed New Energy Capital's clean energy investment strategy and deployed capital in projects with a total cost of more than $250 million.
Mr. Goldman is a co-founder of Minuteman Wind, a wind development company, a Co-founder of and Executive Advisor to an energy efficiency investment fund, and a Co-founder of Clean Energy Venture Group, an early stage investment fund. He serves as a Senior Advisor to Asia Environmental Partners, a $250M private equity fund, and a member of the Board of Directors of Sunrise-Ridge Algae, a biofuels company, and General Compression, a dispatchable wind technology company. Mr. Goldman is also a Co-founder of Environmental Entrepreneurs in New England.

Promethegen ("PC") is a biofuels technology company that I co-founded with Gregory Stephanopoulos of MIT. He is the chief scientific officer and I am the president & ceo. Promethegen has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with MIT to commercialize the technologies developed at Dr. Stephanopopoulos' lab. PC will leverage these advanced propriertary technologies in metabolic engineering and its expertise in biotechnology to become a preeminent provider of high value productivity solutions to both the existing and emerging segments of the biofuels industry. PC's first product will be an enhanced yeast strain that will improve the productivity and ethanol/glucose yield for existing ethanol producers. PC will also contribute to the efficiency improvements of "second generation" biofuels by advancing technologies for biofuel production in microbes and will help develop "third generation" biofuels by engineering microbes capable of producing these advanced, high-energy molecules. Mr. Raj Vallabh of Foley HoagSpeaking on Intellectual Property
Rajesh (Raj) Vallabh is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Group. He has over 16 years of experience as a registered U.S. patent attorney. With degrees in both electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, Raj's practice involves patents in a wide range of technologies including computer software and hardware, telecommunications, computer networks, semiconductors, e-commerce, business methods, medical devices, machinery, and industrial processes.
Raj advises clients on developing and implementing U.S. and foreign patent strategies, including establishing invention disclosure programs and building patent portfolios. He has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications. In addition, Raj performs risk assessment and design-around analysis for new products, and renders opinions on patent infringement and validity. He also evaluates IP assets in connection with transactions.
Prior to joining Foley Hoag, Raj was a patent attorney at law firms in Boston, New York, and Dallas. He also worked as an engineer before attending law school.
