Are you an undergraduate or graduate student passionate about
protecting and preserving the planet and interested in learning how to
create an innovation or viable business that addresses critical
sustainability issues? We invite you apply to attend NCIIA's IdeaLab: Retrofitting
Communities. You'll learn how to develop and commercialize products and
innovations that promote and support productive and environmentally
sustainable communities.
Significant amounts of time and money are spent developing products to aid sustainable living when building a new property. The challenge is that the vast majority of the population lives, and will continue to live, in houses and communities that are already built. Unless innovations focus on retrofitting within a domestic environment, the potential impact of sustainable living will never truly be realized. IdeaLab: Retrofitting Communities will take you through a highly dynamic process proven to create viable initiatives and business concepts to tackle these challenges. Students from all majors and professional schools are encouraged to apply. We are looking for applicants who want to take solutions to the marketplace.
