Invention to Venture: Life Sciences 2008 is designed exclusively
for life science entrepreneurs and researchers interested in opportunities
to commercialize leading academic research. Participants will hear
from successful biotech and medical device entrepreneurs, practitioners
and funding sources on the keys to success in today’s venture development climate.
The conference is designed as an introduction to the technology
entrepreneurship and commercialization process for life science
researchers while serving as a venue for companies and entrepreneurs
to network with researchers from leading research institutions.

About the NCIIA
The National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance fosters
invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship in higher education
as a way of creating innovative, commercially viable, and socially
beneficial businesses and employment opportunities in the United
States. The program was founded on the premise that invention, innovation,
and entrepreneurship are essential components of the higher education
curriculum and vital to the nation’s economic future. The
NCIIA works with colleges and universities to build collaborative
experiential learning programs that help nurture a new generation
of innovators and entrepreneurs with strong technical and business
skills and the tools and intention to make the world a better place.
Invention to Venture is a program of the National Collegiate Inventors
& Innovators Alliance. The I2V program is directed science and
technology students and faculty. Its goal is to provide insights
into the entrepreneurial process for participants at I2V workshops
and access to people and resources that can help participants realize
their entrepreneurial ambitions. The program is conducted in association
with university partners and with other institutions.
About the Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center
The Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center was created in 2004 as a program in the Massachusetts Economic Stimulus Bill. Its goal is to support technology transfer activities from public and private research institutions to companies in Massachusetts. To achieve this goal, the Center works with technology transfer offices at Massachusetts research institutions; faculty, researchers, and students who have commercially promising ideas; and companies across the Commonwealth.
