Resources

Invention to Venture workshops offer numerous resources to attendees. The two main assets are practical information and networking opportunities.

The presenters inspire action along with practical methods for taking ideas to commercialization. We provide participant handbooks on the day of the workshop that include presenter profiles, web resources, recommended reading and glossary of terms.

Invention to Venture workshops provide opportunities to network with presenters and representatives from the business community along with other students and faculty on the host campus as well as neighboring institutions. When you attend a workshop, the other people in the audience are valuable resources that may provide future opportunities for collaboration. The lunch program is designed for networking.

Invention to Venture participants found the networking opportunities enormously beneficial. A student at the University of Maryland met a service provider and made an appointment on the spot. Faculty at the University of California San Diego made connections with the local angel investors.

It is important not to overlook the possibility that your next business partner or funder may be the person sitting next to you at Invention to Venture!
