Scott
Kveton is the CEO of Urban Airship, a mobile services platform provider in Portland, Oregon. He is
widely recognized as an expert on mobile app strategy and cloud infrastructure.
He speaks frequently on app monetization, engagement and the developer
ecosystems around the various mobile platforms.
Under Kveton's leadership, Urban Airship has added customers, employees and
accolades at a rapid pace. The company powers some of the most successful
brands in mobile, including ESPN, Tapulous, Groupon, dictionary.com, msnbc.com
and Newsweek. Urban Airship's flagship offerings-push notifications and in-app
purchase-help apps gain success by increasing user engagement and delivering a
path to monetization. As of March, the venture-backed start-up has delivered
billions of push notifications across the Apple, Android and Blackberry
platforms while enabling more millions of in-app mobile transactions.
Prior to co-founding Urban Airship, Kveton had more than a dozen years of
experience building technology, developing business strategy and leading
engineering teams with companies including Amazon.com, Rulespace, JanRain and
Vidoop. He also co-founded the Open Source Lab (OSL) at Oregon State
University. OSL was instrumental in helping several open source projects
grow into mainstream usage, including the Mozilla Foundation, the Linux Kernel
and Drupal. In recognition of his work at OSL and with the OpenID Foundation,
Scott was named Red Herring's list of '25 Titans in waiting' in early 2007 and
Information Week's 'Change Agents' in December 2005.

Adam Ware, Managing Partner - SwellPath
Adam
is a seasoned web veteran. He began his career as the first developer hired at
Lucy in the .com heyday. He then transitioned into a web-marketing role,
spending time as a web analytics consultant for WebTrends, and in director and
VP roles at a few ecommerce and web-based organizations.
Adam
is a Chicago native. He has a B.S. from Willamette University and an M.B.A.
from Portland State University. He spends his free time surfing, geeking out on
web apps, and Tweeting.
Kurt Huffman
Peter Rachor, Commercialization and Entrepreneurship Program Manager - University of Portland
Peter
Rachor is an instructor and director of commercialization and entrepreneurship
programs at the University of Portland. These programs include the joint
University of Portland/OHSU Technology Entrepreneurship Commercialization (TEC)
graduate program, and the nationally recognized Entrepreneur Scholars
program. He also leads Portland's Inner City Entrepreneur e200
program in partnership with the Small Business Administration. Previously,
he was Director, Venture Development at the University of New Mexico,
responsible for creation of more than ten start-up enterprises from
technologies developed through various research programs. While there he
launched UNM's Lobo VentureLab, a business accelerator that assisted early
stage technology companies. He has also worked with Los Alamos National
Laboratory, assisting inventors, entrepreneurs and technology transfer staff in
patent licensing, market assessment, and venture formation. Peter
served as President of New Mexico Bio, that State's bioscience industry
organization, and on advisory boards of the New Mexico Economic Development
Department , TVC Equity Capital Symposium, Coronado Venture Forum, and the Los
Alamos Regional Tech Transfer Group.
Mr. Rachor previously founded or co-founded three technology ventures, and held
international management positions with several telecommunications companies
including Lucent Technologies, British Telecom, and Verizon
Communications. As a result, has had had the opportunity to live
and do business on four continents
Peter holds a BA in Finance from Michigan State University and often serves as
a mentor, coach or advisor to early stage and emerging companies, assisting
entrepreneurs, students, and scientists.
Brantley Shumaker
Brantley Shumaker works with the Intellectual Property group and focuses
his practice primarily in the areas of patent prosecution and
intellectual property litigation. Mr. Shumaker has prosecuted patent
applications in a variety of disciplines, including electrical, medical
(e.g., surgical instruments, injection technology), mechanical (e.g.,
toys, drilling equipment, alternative energy), and business methods. Mr.
Shumaker focuses particularly on prosecution of patents in computer
hardware and software-related technologies, including computer
networking, telecommunications, cloud computing, and security. He has
also litigated and prepared licensing agreements in the areas of patent,
trademark, copyright and trade secrets. Prior to joining Schwabe, Mr.
Shumaker was an associate at Kolisch Hartwell, PC.
Mr. Shumaker has been an adjunct professor at the University of Oregon
Law School since 2009, where he teaches Licensing of Intellectual
Property. He is a member of the Pro Bono Committee for the Oregon State
Bar for the years 2010-2011. Mr. Shumaker is also a member of the Oregon
State Bar, the Marion County Bar Association, and is an Eagle Scout.
Jenny Villalobos
Jennifer Villalobos is an graduate student at Oregon
State University pursing a MBA in Clean Technology Commercialization. She is
currently the president of OSU Students in Free Enterprise, a nationally ranked
international student entrepreneurship organization. She is also a graduate teaching assistant for
the Austin Entrepreneurship Program at OSU helping to develop a foundation of
entrepreneurial skills for freshman students. She serves as one of 12 student
ambassadors in the nation for the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators
Alliance helping student entrepreneurs gain access to resources to move their
ideas toward commercialization.
