Aligning Value Chains, Chemical Sectors and Your Center's Research

•    Background: What is a sector, what is a value chain, what is a technology platform, and the implications for your Center?

•    Exercise: Determine the sector(s) where your technology links and why you think it links as the basis for tech translation

•    Report out: Sector alignment with the research at the Center. (Speed pitch by Center Teams) (What is the technology their Center? What problems are being addressed. Define up to 3 sectors for which your technology has relevance and why.

Know Thyself...Know Thy Team... Know Thy Role

•    The Center Team and you - Teams, Center success; It's all about the people!

•    Situational Leadership Assessment

NOTE: each part of Session VI will include a panel discussion, Q&A, and a rapid pitch style report out from each Center Team on new awareness, findings, implications of this topic for their Center from each Panel topic.

Homework: Prepare a PowerPoint presentation to accompany a Pitch using the framework provided. Use no more than 7 slides. If there is a venture, include 5 venture slides and 2 slides on dissemination back at the CCI. If there is no venture, focus the presentation on dissemination and use 5 - 7 slides.


6:00pm     Working Dinner with Q&A on Homework and Pitch for Tomorrow

Report Out: Each team will present a dissemination plan or a venture plan. For each team, allow a total of 10 minutes for the Pitch and 5 minutes for Q&A.
